Welcome to the Canadian Association of Malaysia!
The Canadian Association of Malaysia is a volunteer-run
organization whose objectives are to assist expatriates in adjusting to life in Malaysia.
We provide support,
networking and social activities for expats while raising funds
for selected charities through our annual events.
CAM is fortunate to have access to the skills of many Canadian expats and
friends of Canada to achieve its various goals. Whether it be to welcome Canadian expatriate
newcomers or to organize fundraising events for local charities, or simply to plan trips
and functions to have fun — we join forces to make sure our stay in Malaysia is a
most pleasant and rewarding experience! Why not
join us?
Our infamous annual events
Throughout the year, CAM hosts various
lunches with special guest speakers, we hold golf tournaments, craft events, card
evenings, as well as events for children. We also organize trips to different parts of Asia, providing
excellent networking opportunities to meet interesting people and to learn more
about our host country -
Malaysia.
CAM's most popular major annual events include:
- The Canadian Thanksgiving Charity Ball — held
in October; famous
throughout the city for its "Parade of Turkeys". This is a wonderful evening of
great food, fun and dance, where funds are raised through our auction for the
Malaysian charities CAM supports.
- Tree of Hope — held in mid November to
raise funds to assist us in purchasing Christmas presents for the children of
the charities we support.
-
Canadian Christmas Luncheon — held in mid
December at the Canadian High
Commissioner's Residence.
- Canada Rocks
VI — a concert with buffet dinner and dancing
to be held on April 26, 2008 at the Alice Spring School with music supplied by
Krude, a group of expat musicians and Benchmarx.
